It's already 19 years ago that we started the "European RS Event" at the Baarlo speedway-arena with the intention to bring as much as Ford RS cars together for a enjoyable meeting. In the first years of the event there was an abundance of "older" cars like the Mk1 and Mk2 Escorts but their numbers gradually dropped to just a handfull of those cars visiting the now re-named European Ford Event (EFE organised by the XR/RS Club). Just as the Classic Ford Show in the UK is an event for the classic Ford cars, we thought why not organise a similar event over here! After looking for a suitable venue for such an event and talking to their owners, we in the end got talking to the owners of "Trafficport" in Venlo, just a couple of miles from the old Baarlo-racetrack. They were very enthousiastic about a Classic Ford Event at their location so the 1st Classic Ford Event took place on October 3rd 2010. Please have a look at the Gallery section for an impression of this day. Due to its location in the south-east of the Netherlands this show will attract not only people and cars from Holland but also from Belgium, Germany, France, Danmark and the UK.
